Hair loss treatment in Bali starts with understanding why your hair is changing. At SŌMA in Uluwatu, we combine specialized hair and scalp analysis, targeted blood tests and personalised treatment for men and women. Options include PRP, autologous exosomes and new CGF/LPCGF preparations, alongside medical care for relevant hormonal or nutritional contributors.

For patients comparing costs, PRP hair restoration is IDR 4,000,000 per session and autologous exosome treatment starts from IDR 12,000,000 per session, excluding 11% tax. Every hair-loss treatment includes hair and scalp analysis so the plan can be assessed against a baseline, rather than judged from memory.

The goal is to preserve existing hair, reduce avoidable shedding and work towards better coverage where improvement is possible. That requires more than choosing an injectable.

Hair and scalp analysis: a baseline before every treatment

Hair loss is a symptom, not a single diagnosis. Inherited pattern thinning, temporary shedding and inflammatory scalp conditions need different approaches, and more than one cause can be present. A close scalp examination and medical history help distinguish them.

Every hair-loss treatment at SŌMA includes an advanced hair and scalp analysis. At the first appointment, this helps us identify the problem and establish a baseline. At follow-up treatment visits, we reassess the scalp, review your response and compare findings with the record we started with.

Our assessment combines digital and AI hair and scalp examination with markers and clinical review. We consider the distribution of thinning, differences in hair-shaft thickness, scalp condition and signs that further investigation is needed. Where measurable, we record hair density and other relevant indicators in the areas being followed.

The numbers and your experience both matter. Quantitative findings are considered alongside qualitative assessment: how much shedding you notice, changes in scalp comfort, how your hair looks and feels, and the clinician’s assessment of coverage. Comparable scalp areas, lighting and photographic views make follow-up more useful than unrelated before-and-after pictures.

This record helps us decide whether to continue, adjust or reconsider a treatment. A check at each session does not mean expecting new growth between closely spaced appointments; meaningful growth comparisons need time.

Blood tests for hair loss: investigating the underlying cause

SŌMA offers specific hair-loss blood-test panels to help investigate underlying contributors. Your doctor selects and adjusts the panel according to your history, symptoms and examination rather than ordering the same extensive set of tests for everyone.

Depending on the findings, investigations may include a full blood count and iron status, including ferritin, or thyroid function testing. Other nutrient or hormone tests may be appropriate when there is a clinical reason to investigate them. Iron deficiency and thyroid conditions are among the contributors considered when investigating diffuse shedding.

Blood results are interpreted alongside the hair analysis, not in isolation. The useful question is whether a finding changes your care: correcting an identified deficiency, investigating a medical condition, reviewing medication, or recognising that the main problem needs a scalp-directed treatment. No panel can guarantee a single, reversible ‘root cause’ for every patient.

How much does hair loss treatment cost in Bali?

At SŌMA, PRP hair restoration costs IDR 4,000,000 per session and autologous exosome hair restoration starts from IDR 12,000,000 per session, before tax. These are the prices on our hair-loss treatment page, not estimates based on other clinics.

SŌMA prices its blood-derived hair treatments per treatment session, not per tube. PRP, CGF/LPCGF and autologous exosome treatments include multiple blood-collection tubes within the agreed clinical protocol, together with hair and scalp analysis. The number of tubes and treatment plan are determined by your doctor. This is separate from products expressly listed per vial, such as Cellbooster.

The tax-inclusive figures above apply the 11% tax stated on our treatment price page. They are calculations, not a separate package offer. The cost of investigations, prescription treatment and the recommended number of sessions depends on your assessment. Ask for an itemised quote before committing to a course.

Every hair-loss treatment includes hair and scalp analysis. We use that record to assess suitability and review progress, whether your plan involves PRP, an autologous regenerative treatment or medical management of an underlying contributor.

New at SŌMA: CGF and liquid CGF hair treatment

Our expanded regenerative programme only clinic in Bali offers concentrated growth factors (CGF) and liquid-phase concentrated growth factors (LPCGF) alongside our existing PRP and autologous exosome options. These additions give our doctors more ways to build an autologous treatment plan, using material prepared from the patient’s own blood.

CGF and LPCGF: supporting hair density

CGF is a blood-derived preparation used to deliver the patient’s own growth-factor-containing material. LPCGF refers to its liquid-phase preparation. They belong to the wider family of autologous platelet concentrates, but the preparation and composition differ from conventional PRP. They should not be treated as interchangeable names for the same product.

For suitable patients, the intended benefit is support for hair growth and density as part of a wider plan. A small randomised, split-scalp trial in men found better hair-density outcomes with CGF plus topical minoxidil than with minoxidil and placebo injections. This supports further interest in CGF as an adjunct; it does not establish that every CGF or LPCGF protocol produces the same result, or that it is superior to PRP.

At SŌMA, the decision to use CGF or LPCGF follows the assessment, your treatment history and the goals agreed with your doctor. A larger choice of therapies should lead to a better-matched plan, not automatically to more procedures.

PRP hair treatment in Bali

Platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, is prepared by separating and concentrating platelets from a sample of your blood. It is used in hair-loss care to support growth in suitable patients. It remains an option at SŌMA rather than something every patient must ‘upgrade’ from. Suitability, preparation, response and the overall treatment plan matter. 1

Exosome hair treatment in Bali: benefits and limitations

Exosomes are a type of extracellular vesicle: tiny particles released by cells that can carry biological signals. Researchers are studying their potential in hair restoration. However, products described as ‘exosomes’ can differ substantially in their source, processing and composition. Scientific guidance distinguishes a characterised exosome population from a broader mixture of extracellular vesicles. 6

SŌMA’s autologous exosome option uses material derived from your own blood rather than donor-derived material. That is what ‘autologous’ means. It does not, by itself, prove purity, greater effectiveness or an absence of treatment risks. Your doctor should explain the preparation being used and how it fits your plan.

The clinical findings are encouraging but need careful interpretation. In a 2024 prospective study, 30 men had increased hair density after treatment with donor-cell-derived exosomes. There was no placebo comparison, and the preparation was not the same as a blood-derived autologous treatment. Its results therefore cannot be presented as a forecast of what a SŌMA patient will achieve. 5

For a suitable patient, exosome treatment may be considered as an additional scalp-directed option after discussing the evidence, alternatives and uncertainties. It is not a proven replacement for every established hair-loss treatment, nor a way to bypass investigation of an underlying medical problem.

Hair loss treatment for men and women

SŌMA specialises in hair-loss care for both men and women. We adjust the assessment, treatment selection, frequency and follow-up to the individual rather than applying one protocol with a different label.

Male pattern hair loss and other causes of thinning

We assess the pattern and extent of thinning, family history, scalp findings and previous treatment. A receding hairline, crown thinning and sudden diffuse shedding are not automatically the same problem. When pattern hair loss is diagnosed, the discussion may include medicines that address it, as well as whether a regenerative treatment adds value. 1

We also review current medication, supplements and any testosterone use. Hair loss alone is not a reason to prescribe testosterone replacement.

Female hair loss: patterns, shedding and life stage

We consider the pattern of thinning, changes in shedding, menstrual and pregnancy history, recent illness, weight change and the menopausal transition. Iron or thyroid problems and other relevant contributors may need investigation. Postpartum shedding, for example, is not automatically an indication for scalp injections. 2 3

Pregnancy, breastfeeding and plans to conceive are part of treatment selection. We adapt or defer treatments where appropriate and do not assume that a procedure is suitable simply because it uses the patient’s own blood.

Treating hormonal and nutritional contributors to hair loss

A scalp treatment will not correct an untreated thyroid condition or replace missing dietary iron or protein. When those issues are contributing to hair loss, they need attention alongside any local treatment. 2

At SŌMA, a comprehensive protocol can bring together scalp care, appropriate prescription treatment, correction of confirmed nutritional deficiencies, practical nutrition and lifestyle support, and investigation or management of relevant medical conditions. Regenerative therapies and biostimulators are possible components, not the whole programme.

We also offer hormone replacement therapy when there is a medical indication. For example, menopausal hormone therapy may be considered for appropriate symptoms after an individual assessment of benefits and risks. It is not prescribed simply because a woman reports thinning hair.

For men, testosterone replacement requires an appropriate diagnosis, including compatible symptoms and consistently low testosterone levels, with follow-up monitoring. It is not a general hair-regrowth treatment. Possible worsening of hereditary pattern thinning is a consideration in susceptible patients, so hormonal care and the hair-loss plan must be assessed together.

Here, ‘holistic’ means addressing the relevant contributors together. It does not mean giving every patient supplements, hormones and injections, or promising that every form of hair loss can be reversed.

How we measure hair regrowth and track progress

Before starting, we agree what a useful response would look like for you. That may mean less shedding, stable coverage, improvement in measurable density or a healthier, more comfortable scalp. The baseline gives us something more reliable to work from than memory.

At follow-up, we review the hair analysis, comparable photographs, your experience and any relevant medical findings. We also consider treatment tolerability and whether the plan is practical to maintain. If progress is limited, the next step is to reassess the diagnosis and contributing factors, not simply repeat the same treatment indefinitely.

Hair improvement is assessed over months, not a holiday weekend. Some types of shedding recover after a trigger resolves; other forms of hair loss need ongoing management. There is no responsible way to promise a fixed percentage of regrowth or a permanent result to every patient.

Blood collection and scalp procedures can cause discomfort, bruising, bleeding or infection. Using your own blood does not remove the need for medical screening, careful handling, informed consent and clear aftercare. Your doctor will discuss the risks and uncertainties of the specific treatment proposed.

Hair treatment prices: standard clinic menus in key international markets

The comparison below uses fees published on providers’ own menus and treatment price lists, checked on 25 September 2026. We exclude introductory offers, trial prices, membership rates, temporary discounts and prices calculated by dividing a treatment package. A standard ‘from’ price is retained as a starting fee, not presented as a guaranteed final quote.

These are selected private-clinic examples, not national averages or a ranking of clinical quality. The sample does not establish two comparable premium-clinic menus in every market. Where the evidence is a treatment-page quote or a medical-spa service rather than a comparable clinic menu, it is separated below.

Published private-clinic menu prices

Compare the pricing unit, not just the headline fee. Overseas prices may be quoted for one tube, two tubes, one vial, one scalp area or a complete session. Each IDR equivalent below converts the same published unit; it does not turn a per-tube or per-area fee into a whole-treatment price. SŌMA’s blood-derived treatment prices include multiple tubes within the agreed protocol.

PRP hair price

Exosome hair price

Scope of the published fee

AUD 695 (approx. IDR 8,760,000) single tube; AUD 1,195 (approx. IDR 15,060,000) two tubes

AUD 945 (approx. IDR 11,910,000) with scalp microneedling

Guide fees per session. Tube count and delivery differ; the exosome entry is not documented as a blood-derived autologous procedure.

From GBP 650 (approx. IDR 15,410,000) per area

ExoTech: from GBP 580 (approx. IDR 13,750,000) per session

Edinburgh treatment menu, not a London or whole-scalp quote. The exosome service describes injection or microneedling.

Doctor-performed: from GBP 650 (approx. IDR 15,410,000) per session

No hair-specific exosome fee used

The menu separately lists an aesthetician PRP tier from GBP 400 (approx. IDR 9,480,000). The doctor tier is the closer practitioner comparison with SŌMA.

EUR 299 (approx. IDR 6,100,000) per treatment

EUR 279 (approx. IDR 5,690,000) per treatment

Single-treatment columns only; discounted course prices excluded. Exosome source, dose and delivery are not established by the fee table.

EUR 350 (approx. IDR 7,140,000) per session

Exosomes with mesotherapy: EUR 400 (approx. IDR 8,160,000) per session

Published one-session fees, not three-session packages. A combined mesotherapy preparation is not proof of equivalence to autologous exosomes.

EUR 400 (approx. IDR 8,160,000) for the listed PRP treatment, including hair

No verified hair-specific exosome fee

The price list excludes VAT. Its separate exosome/microneedling entry describes skin treatment and is not used as a hair-treatment quote.

No verified PRP fee used

Exosome Microneedling Hair: from AED 2,200 (approx. IDR 10,720,000)

Clinic service price list. This is a microneedling treatment, not a verified like-for-like autologous injectable.

Prices are shown in the clinic’s own currency to keep the original quotation visible. Taxes are not added where the source does not specify them; Mariposa explicitly excludes VAT. Consultation, tests, product quantity and follow-up should be confirmed with each provider. ‘No verified fee’ means no qualifying price was established in this review, not that the clinic does not offer the treatment.

Singapore and the United States: separate medical-spa references

In Singapore, Freia Aesthetics’ à-la-carte menu lists VENN Lite at SGD 500 (approx. IDR 7,000,000) and Purasomes Lite at SGD 750 (approx. IDR 10,490,000); the corresponding Luxe services are SGD 600 (approx. IDR 8,400,000) and SGD 850 (approx. IDR 11,890,000), excluding GST. These are four service variants at one provider, not four independent clinic quotes. The trial and package rates are excluded. They are branded scalp-treatment programmes, not verified equivalents of SŌMA’s blood-derived autologous procedure.

In the US, Arta Medical Spa in Washington, DC lists a single PRP hair session at USD 875 (approx. IDR 15,660,000). Deluxe Med Spa in Southern California lists its Eclipse PRP hair options from USD 699 (approx. IDR 12,510,000) for the 11 mL menu option and USD 899 (approx. IDR 16,090,000) for 22 mL. These are medical-spa references, not two verified premium dermatologist/MD-performed treatment quotes. Arta identifies its practitioner as a DNP, and the Deluxe menu does not establish doctor-performed delivery. The volume descriptions are menu labels, not verified final injected PRP volumes.

A separate autologous preparation reference

For readers comparing preparation rather than clinic positioning, PRP London Clinic’s menu lists PRP with MCT autologous exosomes for hair from GBP 500 (approx. IDR 11,850,000) per session. This is a specific combined PRP/MCT service. We have not independently established the clinic’s premium-market classification, and the fee is not evidence that its preparation is identical to SŌMA’s.

The strongest comparison is treatment-to-treatment: who performs it, how much scalp is treated, how the material is prepared and delivered, and what assessment and follow-up are included. A more expensive option is not automatically more effective, and a lower price for a different service is not evidence that the same treatment costs less. The available data do not support a universal percentage-saving claim for Bali.

For Spain, Italy, Dubai and Singapore, this review did not verify a second comparable premium-clinic, standalone menu fee. For the US, the verified prices above are medical-spa references. Comparable published CGF/LPCGF hair prices were also not established; missing prices should not be interpreted as country-wide unavailability.

Exchange-rate basis: Approximate IDR equivalents use Bank Indonesia rates dated 24 September 2026, with non-USD/IDR reference rates for AUD, GBP, EUR, SGD and AED, and the USD/IDR JISDOR rate for USD. Each converted fee is rounded to the nearest IDR 10,000. The original currency price, starting-price qualification, treatment quantity and tax basis remain unchanged. These are illustrative comparisons, not a bank, card or payment quote.

IDR per one unit of foreign currency used in these calculations: AUD = 12,598.40; GBP = 23,707.69; EUR = 20,391.19; SGD = 13,992.10; USD = 17,898.00; AED = 4,872.79.

Where are PRP and exosome hair treatments unavailable or restricted?

Availability, advertising and regulatory approval are different things. A clinic advert shows what is being marketed, not that a product is authorised for scalp injection. Equally, a restriction on one product type does not mean every regenerative hair treatment is prohibited in that country.

United States: no FDA-approved exosome product

The FDA’s public safety alert states that there are no FDA-approved exosome products. An exosome treatment advertised for hair loss should therefore not be described as an FDA-approved routine option. Research under an appropriate investigational pathway is different from an approved commercial treatment. This statement does not mean PRP is unavailable in the US.

Singapore: PRP for hair loss is reported as not permitted

Sozo Aesthetic Clinic’s physician-reviewed guidance, last reviewed on 1 July 2025, states that PRP for hair loss is not permitted in Singapore. We attribute that statement to the provider because we did not verify a current, hair-specific Ministry of Health circular. Confirm the current position with a locally licensed doctor; do not assume rules for orthopaedic PRP also allow cosmetic scalp treatment. Singapore exosome-branded programmes are advertised, but they do not establish access to the same autologous procedure offered at SŌMA.

Germany, Spain and Italy: restrictions depend on product classification

EU cosmetics rules, Annex II entry 416, prohibit human-origin cells, tissues and products in cosmetics. That restriction matters for a human-derived cosmetic serum; it should not be stretched into a claim that all autologous medical procedures, PRP or non-human exosome-labelled cosmetics are unavailable. The legal position of an injectable preparation requires a separate product- and use-specific check.

United Kingdom, Australia and UAE: check the exact preparation

PRP London Clinic advertises an MCT autologous exosome combination, so we do not describe autologous exosome treatment as unavailable throughout the UK. The Australian example above is explicitly needle-free, and Dubai providers advertise commercial formulations. Those offers do not verify approval of every injectable product. Australia’s TGA guidance explains that biological products have regulatory requirements and specific pathways; the relevant status must be checked for the proposed product and use.

For CGF and LPCGF, this review did not establish a country-wide absence across these markets. Their inclusion at SŌMA expands our autologous options, but we do not use an unverified ‘unavailable everywhere else’ claim. Before treatment in any country, ask who will treat you, what will be used, which evidence applies to that preparation, and how adverse effects and follow-up will be handled.

Hair loss treatment in Bali: questions from overseas patients

Can I start treatment during a short visit to Bali?

An assessment can be a useful first step during a visit. Bring previous results and a list of medicines or supplements. Discuss any proposed treatment course and follow-up before booking multiple sessions: a short stay should not determine the clinical interval, and it is too short to judge regrowth.

What is the price of PRP and exosome hair treatment at SŌMA?

PRP hair restoration costs IDR 4,000,000 per session, or IDR 4,440,000 including the stated 11% tax. Autologous exosome hair restoration starts from IDR 12,000,000 per session, or IDR 13,320,000 including that tax. CGF/LPCGF, blood tests and other components are quoted after assessment. Package offers and the number of sessions should be confirmed in writing.

Hair treatment or a hair transplant in Bali: which do I need?

Not in every case. Transplantation and scalp-directed medical treatment serve different purposes, and suitability depends on the diagnosis and remaining hair. In particular, follicles destroyed by scarring cannot be restored by promising a more powerful injectable. Sudden patchy loss, scalp pain or signs of inflammation deserve medical assessment before a cosmetic treatment is chosen. 1 2

Do you offer female hair loss treatment in Bali?

Yes. SŌMA treats women and men with individual protocols. For women, the assessment considers the pattern of thinning, menstrual and pregnancy history, the menopausal transition and relevant nutritional or medical contributors. Pregnancy, breastfeeding and plans to conceive affect treatment selection; postpartum shedding is not automatically a reason for scalp injections.

Are blood tests included in every hair-loss treatment?

Hair and scalp analysis is part of every hair-loss treatment. Blood tests are separate investigations selected when the history or examination suggests they would be useful. SŌMA offers dedicated hair-loss panels, which may be adjusted to investigate iron status, thyroid function or other clinically relevant findings; confirm the tests and cost in your written plan.

Are exosomes better than PRP for hair loss?

There is no reliable basis for calling every exosome preparation better than PRP. Products, protocols and study populations differ, and early results from donor-derived exosomes do not predict outcomes from a blood-derived preparation. Your diagnosis, previous response, evidence, risks and budget should guide the choice.
