RF (radiofrequency) microneedling adds heat energy to the deeper dermis for stronger collagen contraction and neocollagenesis. A 2024–2025 systematic review of 16 studies and 481 patients (Clinical, Cosmetic and Investigational Dermatology) found fractional RF microneedling is an effective, minimally invasive treatment for facial acne scarring, with a good safety profile including in darker skin tones. A separate prospective study (Journal of Cutaneous and Aesthetic Surgery, 2024) reported RF microneedling was effective for acne scars with a favourable safety profile.

Can I fly and enjoy my holiday after Microneedling?

Microneedling requires some planning around your itinerary. You can fly after 24 hours. Your skin will be red (like moderate sunburn) for 24-72 hours — schedule this before a quiet day. Avoid sun exposure, swimming, makeup, and active skincare for 72 hours minimum. No intense exercise, alcohol, or saunas for 48 hours. Use only gentle cleanser and hydrating products. Best booked for mid-trip with a relaxation day following, or early in a longer stay. Results continue improving for weeks!
