This guide is written by people who live in Uluwatu and love the Bukit. We eat at these restaurants, work out at these studios, and watch these sunsets weekly. Every recommendation here comes from firsthand experience, not a sponsored list, not a press trip round-up. Just the places we'd actually take our own friends.
A girls trip to Bali can go one of two ways. It can be a blur of overcrowded beach clubs and hangovers in Seminyak, or it can be the kind of trip where you come home feeling better than when you left, sun-kissed, properly rested, with a camera roll full of photos where everyone actually looks good.
Uluwatu delivers the second version. It has the beaches, the nightlife, and the Instagram moments, but without the chaos that the more tourist-saturated parts of Bali can bring. The Bukit Peninsula has its own pace, a little slower, a little more intentional, a lot more beautiful.
Where to Stay
For a girls trip, you want a private villa with a pool. Full stop. Uluwatu has dozens of them, and splitting the cost between four to six people makes even the fancy ones surprisingly affordable.
Dream Villas is our top pick. Private pool villas with premium wellness amenities, thoughtful design, and a location that puts you within minutes of Uluwatu's best cafés, beach clubs, and restaurants. The two- and three-bedroom options are ideal for a group, and the villas come with concierge services that handle breakfast, scooter rentals, and restaurant bookings.
Ikigai Uluwatu Beach is a great hotel option, Japan designed rooms with clean lines and calming aesthetics, a central location near Uluwatu's main strip, and private pool suites for groups who want a boutique hotel experience rather than self-catering.
If you prefer something more colorful, Pink Coco Bali is photogenic and fun, and Gravity Eco Boutique Hotel offers trendy design with a social vibe.
Day One: Arrive, Unpack, and Ease In
Don't try to do everything on day one. You just got off a plane. The humidity hit you the moment you walked out of the airport. Your skin is confused, your body clock is off, and someone in the group is already hangry.
Get to your villa, get in the pool, order food. For your first proper meal, head to Milk and Madu. Great coffee, a brunch menu that everyone in the group will find something they love on, and an atmosphere that's buzzy without being overwhelming. The kind of spot where one person orders the pancakes, someone else gets the eggs, and everyone ends up sharing everything.
For sunset, Single Fin is the move. The most iconic sundowner spot in Uluwatu, a clifftop bar overlooking Suluban Beach with DJs, cold Bintangs, and a crowd that's there for a good time. Sunday sessions are legendary, but any night delivers.
Keep dinner simple. The Cashew Tree is a local favorite, good food, relaxed atmosphere, reasonable prices. Or if the group wants something with more energy, La Baracca does Italian comfort food with a lively crowd of expats and travellers. Handmade pasta, thin-crust pizza, and the kind of Friday-night atmosphere that makes everyone at the table happy.
Day Two: Pilates, Beach Club, Shopping, and the Glow-Up
Morning: Start with a Pilates session at Reformer. This is the real thing, a proper studio with good equipment and instructors who'll challenge you. There's something about doing Pilates with your girlfriends in Bali that feels like a very specific kind of luxury. You'll feel smugly virtuous for approximately two hours before the beach club undoes all of it.
For coffee and pastries after class, Baked is the spot, excellent iced long blacks and baked goods that are genuinely outstanding. If you want a more café-culture vibe with breakfast, Artisan is equally strong. For plant-based options, Alchemy does cold-pressed juices, smoothie bowls, and raw food plates that taste as good as they photograph.
Mid-morning to afternoon: Beach club time. Savaya is the most high-production option, international DJs, an infinity pool on a cliff, and a crowd that dresses up. Minimum spend applies, so plan accordingly. For something more relaxed, Ulu Cliffhouse has great cocktails, ocean views, and a less performative atmosphere.
Late afternoon: Shopping. Flook is the boutique everyone in the group will thank you for finding, resort wear, swimwear, and holiday pieces that are a clear cut above generic Bali shopping. Along Labuan Sait street, you'll also find Paulina Katarina for resort wear, FAE for jewellery, and Bamboo Blonde for holiday dresses. For surf-culture browsing, Dharma Surf Shop combines a café with a shop in a way that feels authentically Uluwatu.
The Group Glow-Up at SŌMA
Late afternoon on day two is the ideal time to book a group session at SŌMA Aesthetics & Longevity Club. You've got a day or two of trip left, which means whatever you do now will show results for the rest of your holiday photos.
What girls trip groups book with us:
Group IV drip session. Our most popular girls-trip treatment by a wide margin. Four or five of you, side by side, each with a personalised drip, hydration, energy, skin glow, hangover recovery, pick your formula. It takes about 45 minutes, and the results are real. You'll look noticeably fresher in every photo from day three onward.
The 15-step oxygen and caviar facial. This is the ultimate glow-up treatment and the one that girls trip groups rave about. It combines deep cleansing, oxygen infusion, and caviar extract to plump, hydrate, and give your skin that luminous, lit-from-within quality. It's medical-grade skincare delivered in a relaxing setting, supervised by Dr. Shirley Yuliana Kwee. The difference in your skin is visible immediately and keeps improving over the next 48 hours, perfectly timed for the rest of your trip.
Lip fillers - For subtle contouring and volume. Bali is where a lot of women try this for the first time, and doing it with your girlfriends takes the intimidation out of it. Our approach is minimal and natural, your lips, just fuller and more defined. A consultation costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
Laser hair removal - If you're tired of shaving every day in the tropics (and you will be tired of it), even a single session makes a difference.
Evening: Late-night drinks at Shady Pig. Good cocktails, a fun crowd, and the sort of loosely chaotic energy that makes for the stories you'll be retelling for months. Or for something more refined, find the hidden Japanese speakeasy above Drippen Bali Match Bar at The Habitat, a cigar lounge and cocktail bar with a chill, slightly secretive atmosphere. Good cocktails, low lighting, and the kind of place that makes a girls night feel like an occasion.
Day Three: The Beach Day You Came For
Padang Padang Beach in the morning, the beach from "Eat Pray Love," small but beautiful. Get there early before it fills up. The entrance through a narrow gap in the rocks makes the reveal genuinely exciting.
Then move to Melasti Beach for the afternoon. Uluwatu's most photogenic beach, white sand, clear water, and a dramatic entrance road carved through high limestone cliffs. There are beach bars and loungers, so you can settle in.
For a mid-afternoon meal, head to Ulu Fish Market or grab something casual at one of the beachside warungs. Fresh fish, cold drinks, sand between your toes.
Day Four: Culture, Markets, and the Final Night
Visit Pura Luhur Uluwatu in the afternoon. The ancient clifftop temple is genuinely spectacular, 11th century, perched 70 metres above the ocean, with resident monkeys who will steal your sunglasses. Stay for the Kecak fire dance at sunset, dozens of men chanting in concentric circles, and it still gives you chills.
If it's a Sunday, the Artisanal Market at Hatch has locally made jewellery, textiles, and homewares worth bringing home. Saturdays, Seed Bingin is the equivalent.
Final dinner: Go big. Teja is Uluwatu's most impressive dinner destination, live-fire cooking, dry-aged meats and seafood, panoramic ocean views, and an atmosphere that makes everyone at the table feel like they're celebrating something. YUKI is equally excellent for a group, moody Japanese izakaya vibes with outstanding cocktails and shareable plates.
The Morning-After Recovery
Before you head to the airport, stop by SŌMA. Beyond a quick vitamin booster shot, we offer advanced recovery treatments for groups who went hard and need to function on a plane:
IV NAD+ drips - NAD+ is a coenzyme that drives cellular energy production. After several nights of celebration, it accelerates recovery at the cellular level, clearing brain fog, restoring energy, and helping your body bounce back faster than sleep and coffee alone.
Ozone therapy - Medical-grade ozone stimulates your body's natural healing and detoxification. Combined with hydration and NAD+, it's the difference between arriving home feeling wrecked and arriving feeling like you actually had a holiday.
The best girls trips aren't about doing everything. They're about doing the right things, eating incredibly well, laughing until your stomach hurts, and coming home with that specific glow that makes everyone at the office say, "Okay, where did you go?". Uluwatu gives you all of that. We're just here to make sure the glow part is real and not just a filter.
